DSPT Fully Compliant
2FA Secured Access

You work for multiple organisations.
None of them equip you.

As an independent clinician, you need HSCN access to do your job — but getting your own token, building a compliant device, and navigating DSPT is a nightmare. You shouldn't have to be an IT expert to see patients.

🔒

No employer provides IT

You work across practices, OOH services, and remote sessions — but nobody gives you a managed, HSCN-connected laptop.

⚙️

Technical complexity

VPN tokens, Cisco AnyConnect, SafeNet 2FA, NHS Smartcard software, WES compliance, BitLocker encryption — it's a lot.

📋

DSPT compliance headache

Every organisation accessing NHS data needs a DSPT submission. As a sole trader or Ltd company, you're expected to handle this alone.

At £800–£1,300 per day, every hour spent troubleshooting IT instead of seeing patients costs you real money.

Common Questions

Do I need my own DSPT submission?

+

It depends on your setup. If you're operating as a sole trader or Ltd company, you may need your own DSPT submission. Our Premium tier includes DSPT compliance guidance to help you through this. Alternatively, your usage may be covered under the DSPT of one of the organisations you work for — we can help you work out which route is right.

Can I use my own laptop?

+

Yes — our Token Only tier is designed for clinicians who already have a suitable Windows laptop that meets the Warranted Environment Specification (WES). It must be encrypted with BitLocker, running a supported version of Windows, and used exclusively for clinical work. If you're not sure whether your device qualifies, we can advise.

Can I use a Mac?

+

Unfortunately, NHS clinical systems (EMIS Web, SystmOne etc.) and the NHS Smartcard software require Windows. If you currently use a Mac, our Managed Device tier provides you with a dedicated Windows laptop configured for clinical use alongside your existing Mac.

What clinical systems can I access?

+

Once connected to HSCN, you can access EMIS Web, SystmOne, Docman, Accurx, Adastra, eConsult, and any other application that sits on the HSCN network. You'll also have access to NHS Spine services including PDS (Patient Demographic Service), EPS (Electronic Prescription Service), and e-RS (e-Referral Service).

How quickly can I get set up?

+

Token Only can typically be provisioned within 3–5 working days. Managed Device setup takes 5–10 working days to build, configure, test, and ship your laptop. We'll keep you informed throughout the process.

Is there a minimum contract?

+

No lengthy contracts. After the first month, you can cancel with one month's notice. We believe in keeping customers because the service is good, not because they're locked in. Managed Device customers will need to return the laptop on cancellation.

Can I expense this through my Ltd company?

+

Yes. The subscription is a legitimate business expense for clinical IT equipment and services. We provide proper VAT invoices each month. Speak with your accountant for specific tax advice on your situation.
